Avoiding account penalties

Sellers who have poor account health will incur penalty points. Those who have severely violated our policies may face account suspension, which refers to these consequences:

  1. Account freeze - Users are unable to conduct transactions (receive and fulfill orders), but will still be able to access their frozen accounts and send chat messages.
  2. Account ban - Users are unable to access their banned accounts.

 

Your account may be suspended if you are involved in these activities: 

  1. Repeated violations on Shopee Live
  2. Repeated violations on Prohibited Listings
  3. Empty parcel fraud
  4. Brushing fraud
  5. Promotional abuse
  6. Scam behaviour
  7. Wrong product category
  8. Incurring negative Seller Balance

 

Whether your account is banned or frozen depends on the severity of the violation.

Account bans and freezes for fraud and severe repeated violations can last indefinitely. 

If a seller’s account was frozen due to an accumulation of 15 seller penalty points, this lasts for 28 days and can be extended if a seller accumulates additional penalty points.
